At the JACT Durham Greek & Latin Summer School we offer courses at six levels in both Latin and Greek from Beginner to Advanced, in addition to a brand new Classical Civilisation course for 2026.​ All of our courses are delivered by our team of highly qualified and experienced tutors from schools and universities.

 As a student on the course you'll have 18 hours of tuition over the week. You'll work hard, but you'll also have plenty of time for fun and relaxation. There'll be the opportunity to take part in various optional activities such as a visit to Hadrian’s Wall, Durham Cathedral, and the Oriental Museum, plus lots of other local places of interest.

On an evening you'll have lectures on a wide range of Classical & Ancient History related topics from visiting speakers who are experts in their fields, and in the afternoons you'll have the opportunity to take part in different optional sessions, such as grammar clinics, workshops, lectures or discussions. On the first night of the course, you'll meet your tutor groups and team up to participate in an Ancient History Quiz. On the final evening, there'll be a formal dinner & entertainments performed by members of the course.
